As Alderman, Bob Fioretti recognized early on that true public safety begins with protecting our children. When neighborhood violence threatened the daily commute of young learners, Bob refused to accept inaction. He stepped forward to unite parents, educators, neighborhood leaders, and law enforcement behind a shared mission: safeguarding students on their way to and from the classroom.
Through the pioneering development and active support of Operation Safe Passage, Bob helped construct real community-driven corridors of protection. By stationing trusted local monitors along critical transit routes, schools and neighborhoods created safe environments where children could focus on learning rather than fear.
