A Personal Message from Bob

“I am stepping off the campaign trail today to fulfill a critical responsibility. I am currently co-chairing the Anti-Human Trafficking Committee of the Chicago Bar Association, alongside attorney Naderh H. Elrabadi, for a vital continuing legal education seminar titled ‘Sex Trafficking Behind the Pulpit.’ We are honored to be joined by survivor advocate Judith Hernández as we continue our work to end this crisis across Illinois.”

Statewide Crisis Briefing

Human Trafficking in Illinois: A Statewide Emergency Demanding Immediate Accountability

For too long, public discourse has treated human trafficking as an isolated urban issue confined to Chicago. The reality across Illinois tells a far more urgent story: trafficking operations span rural communities, suburban corridors, and transportation hubs across all 102 counties.

As Co-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association's Anti-Human Trafficking Committee, Bob Fioretti has stood on the frontlines of this fight—advocating for comprehensive legal protections, prosecuting illicit networks, and prioritizing victim restoration. As Illinois Attorney General, Bob will bring relentless enforcement and coordinated statewide resources to dismantle these networks for good.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month • October 2026

Unmasking the Modern Digital Pipeline

Modern traffickers no longer rely solely on physical coercion; they exploit digital spaces—including gaming channels, encrypted messaging apps, and social media platforms—to target, groom, and manipulate vulnerable individuals and minors.

In alignment with Cybersecurity Awareness Month, our campaign highlights critical initiatives from organizations like the DHS Blue Campaign to educate parents, schools, and communities on identifying warning signs of online recruitment and digital exploitation before harm occurs.

Immediate Action & Resources

Know the Signs. Report Suspected Exploitation.

Combating human trafficking requires vigilance from every citizen. If you suspect trafficking or witness suspicious activity, report it immediately through verified statewide and national hotlines:

• National Human Trafficking Hotline: 1-888-373-7888 (24/7, Toll-Free) • Text Line: Text “HELP” or “INFO” to 233733 (BeFree) • Emergency: Call 911 immediately if someone is in immediate danger.
